Matt & Marisa’s Old Ellicott City Engagement Shoot
I LOVE shooting in my hometown! Downtown Old Ellicott City is just the best. Paired with the sounds of the river flowing, Historic Ellicott City was actually a mill town in the 1800’s. If you’re a local to the area, then you have probably been around long enough to remember the infamous flooding in 2016 and 2018 on our beloved Main Street.
Floods or not… Old Ellicott City will always have a special place in my heart. And I will die on this hill, it’s absolutely magical in the rain. Some of my most cozy memories and days well spent when I lived on Main Street were those when it rained all day. I could make myself a hot bowl of soup, stare out the window and watch the world go by, enjoying the sounds of the storm.
The beauty of Matt and Marisa’s story is that they met a local hangout, just down the road from where I grew up. Marisa is also close friends with a good friend of mine who was in my wedding as a bridesmaid, Ellie. Small world. And getting smaller. Ellie will be standing by Marisa in October on her wedding day as she did for me on mine!
When asked where they wanted to plant their tree, Marisa said: South America.
“I studied abroad in Costa Rica and majored in International Studies with a focus on Latin America so it has a special place in my heart.”
Cheers to you two, Matt & Marisa!
Can not WAIT to create some October magic together this year!
